Burn Permit Application

Apply for a burn permit.

All burning in Payette requires a permit. During a burn ban (July 1 – October 1) only recreational fires are allowed.

Submitting this form does not authorize you to burn. A permit is not valid until the department issues it. During a burn ban, only recreational fires are permitted.

Type of permit

Recreational: a covered backyard fire pit, good up to 90 days, allowed even during a ban. Open burning: natural yard debris, up to 5 days.

Natural vegetation only. Burn barrels and household trash are prohibited — no exceptions.
