Burn Permit Application

Apply for a burn permit.

All burning in Payette requires a permit. During a burn ban (July 1 – October 1) only recreational fires are allowed.

Submitting this open burning permit authorizes you to burn from dawn to dusk. Please remember to burn responsibly and safely, and call Payette County Dispatch when burning. During a burn ban, only recreational fires are permitted.

Open burning: natural yard debris only, good for up to 5 days, dawn to dusk. To keep burning after that, you'll need to resubmit a permit.

Natural vegetation only. Burn barrels and household trash are prohibited — no exceptions.

Anything else we should know?

I've read the burn rules: an adult 18+ stays with the fire at all times, no burning over 90°F or in winds over 10 mph, and I'll confirm no ban is in effect before lighting.

Before I begin the burn, I will call Payette County Dispatch at 208-642-6006 to let them know, so a passing report doesn't launch a needless response.

I understand my open burning permit is valid for up to 5 days, and I'll need to resubmit a permit to keep burning after that.
